Kongo Tadaichi (金剛唯一)

Tadaichi KONGO (1815 to 1884) was a Noh actor of the shite-kata Kongo school (one of the five schools of shite-kata [main roles]). The 21st headmaster of the head family in the Kongo school. His previous name was Ukon Ujinari.

Performing actively from the Edo period to the Meiji period, he put much effort into restoration of Noh plays. Well known that he invvented to throw Chisuji-no-Ito [thousand strings, spider's web] in the drama "Tsuchigumo" (the Ground Spider). KONGO Hyoe Ujiyoshi (兵衛氏善) is his child.
